In the Wrong Place? Think again...

This is a view of the landscape from outside my bedroom window.  Lovely blue skies, and the rugged, varying brown-shaded mountains all around inspire me to say "Praise God!"  There is not much vegetation, except for the artificially created garden spaces here and there and by the road side, but then this is more than what one can expect to see in a desert.

There are so many different races of people living around me... from different countries.  So many of them influence me, and help me be the person I am.

Today I take time to say "Thank you Lord for the place I am in right now.  You know why I have to be here and what Your purpose for me is in this place. I thank you for all the people around me, whichever nationalities they may belong to... and thank you for all the blessings you give me because of my being here where I am right now.  Thank you Lord for this place"

Is there something special about your place that makes you want to say the same?  Is there something about your place that will encourage another to want to praise God?  I would love to hear you share the simple joys of  you being where you are.

Delight yourself in the Lord... And He shall give you, your heart's desires. (Psalm 37:4)

  1. As you know, I live in a hotel. But, my room is great because there is a wide window sill that my cat loves and the window faces Southwest and I can see the most spectacular sunsets. Even against the backdrop of ugly concrete God's beauty cannot be denied.

  2. This post speaks to my heart, and Psalm 37:4 has always been my life verse. I have lived in many places and have learned that each place has its own beauty. Beautiful post!

  3. I thank God for allowing me to see the good and the bad. I have lived in the best of places and I have lived in the worst of places. I thank God that the place that I am in is a result of giving me back what the evil one stole from me. When I look out my window, I see all God's beauty. Beautifully landscaped trees, flowers and birds. I thank him for allowing me every morning that I wake to see the blessings he has bestowed us.

  4. I am thankful to live in a spot where I'm surrounded by the beauty of nature every day. Where I can see small miracles and life and death struggles in the animal world around me. I am most at peace in this quiet solitude. In this environment my spiritual batteries are recharged, and I know God is listening when I say "thank you."

  6. I am so grateful for the place that I am at. I look around and see Palm trees, tropical birds, orange trees....I take my dog for a walk down the street and always stop at the brook. Sometimes I see my turtle friend and I say a few words to him. I stop over and say hi to the two red-ear slider turtles that I gave to my neighbor. Pudge and Toby have a much better habitat living in a bigger pond that in the little aquarium in my home. They have much more room to swim around. My home is small but I am grateful to be here. Very grateful for my place.
